2026 Funds Available from the North Central IPM Center

The North Central Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Center has funds available for Critical Issue research projects, Working Group projects, IPM Partnerships, and IPM Mini-grants for 2026. The requests for applications (RFAs) can be downloaded using the buttons below.

Funding of these projects supports the North Central IPM Center’s mission to improve the health, environment and economic conditions in the North Central region while using IPM to address pest-related challenges. This mission directly accomplishes the goals of the National Road Map for Integrated Pest Management.

Funding Categories

•    Critical Issues
•    Working Groups
•    IPM Partnerships
•    IPM Mini-grants

The Critical Issue, Working Group, and IPM Partnerships projects share the same RFA. Critical Issue projects can fulfill research or resource needs focused on new or emerging disease, weed, or insect pests impacting crops, human health, or safety. Working Group projects should focus on increasing collaboration in the North Central region to address an IPM challenge. IPM Partnership grants support identifying stakeholders in need of IPM information to provide them with IPM resources and education. Proposals should describe IPM outreach or research needs and explain how the project would benefit proposed stakeholders.

IPM Mini-grants are also available for 2026 that support small projects or activities focused on increasing IPM in the region. Please review the RFA for full details.

Funding Amounts

Please note that no end-date extensions will be available for 2026 funding as the Center’s four-year grant cycle winds down. Also, be sure to check the “period of performance,” which is different for working groups that are already receiving funding from the Center.

The Center anticipates awarding 12 to 15 critical issue, working group, and IPM partnership projects with available funds. Each project may receive up to $30,000 for a 12-month period.

Deadline

Critical Issue, Working Group, and IPM Partnerships projects: Monday, December 1, 2025, at 6 pm ET (5 pm CT).

Mini-grant proposals will be accepted until funds are depleted.
