Technician Opportunity – Cornell Vegetable Program

The Cornell Vegetable Program is looking to hire a Technician, “Vegetable Research Project Field Technician”.  It is a full-time permanent Cornell Cooperative Extension assignment to assist with all aspects of research and Extension programming.  The primary focus of this position will be disease and herbicide trial work in muck onions.  Other work will occur in fresh market vegetables and on cultural practices and pest management.

A successful technician needs to care that the tedious work that we do is undertaken to benefit the growers.  We seek a candidate who is comfortable working with pesticides, who is hard working, personable, a good communicator and detail-oriented.  It is a great job for someone who is interested in applied agricultural research and Extension.

If you know of anyone who would be a good fit, please direct them to the job posting.

The job will be posted until Sunday, April 14th. External applicants will need to apply through the Cornell Careers site; the direct link to the posting is: http://tiny.cc/Technician_WDR_00017990.

Questions can be directed to Christy Hoepting, Senior Extension Specialist with the Cornell Vegetable Program,cah59@cornell.edu.
