Entomology Department Head, University of Nebraska-Lincoln

The University of Nebraska seeks candidates for head of the Entomology Department. Located in a major agricultural state – #1 in red meat production and #4 in cash receipts from crops – with a blend of excellent senior and recently hired faculty members the entomology department serves a state rich in agricultural and natural resources. The department head will ensure a culture in which all are engaged and can thrive; manage financial and physical resources responsibly using best management practices; foster a diverse team and programs; and lead the department strategically seeking and deploying personnel and financial resources strategically, continually examining the departmental vision for relevancy.

Required qualifications – Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a discipline relevant to the teaching, research, and extension programs in the department, and a record of accomplishments leading successful teams.
Preferred qualifications – Administrative experience including direct supervision of faculty, staff, budgets, and program development, and accomplishments warranting appointment as tenured professor in the department.
