The Department of Entomology at Kansas State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor (12-month, Tenure Track) position in Agroecosystem Landscape Ecology.

Anticipated start date is Jan. 1, 2018, but negotiable.

The incumbent will develop a strong research program in agroecosystem landscape ecology emphasizing pest and/or beneficial arthropods in field crop systems and surrounding habitats. Possible research approaches and tools include, but are not limited to, geolocation techniques, population dynamics, dispersal/migratory behavior, mathematical and statistical modeling, or molecular techniques.

Collaborate in research with faculty on and off campus in departments of Entomology, Plant Pathology, Agronomy, Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics, Division of Biology, Statistics or in the USDA Center for Grain and Animal Health Research. Procure extramural grant funding to support research efforts. Teach one undergraduate course per year and one graduate-level insect ecology course every other year with the potential for new course(s) in a defined area of interest. Supervise and co-advise graduate students and serve on graduate student committees. Mentoring of undergraduate student research projects is also encouraged. Provide guest lectures, as needed, in courses or programs within and outside the Department.  Participate in various departmental, college, university, and professional society committees. Occasional participation in departmental outreach activities is expected.
