Working Title: County ANR Agent
Salary Range: $40,400/yr starting for Master’s Degree (B.S. $34,500) in appropriate subject area
Job Summary: County agents and specialists throughout the state share information on issues like water quality, profitability in agribusiness, family wellness, and life skills.
County agents provide soil and water test kits and instruction, advice on safe pesticide use, publications and computer programs, and teach consumers skills to improve Georgians’ quality of life. They are the local experts in food safety, proper eating habits, child safety, and parenting.
UGA Extension reaches more than 2 million Georgians through its education programs annually. Millions more rely on our publications, educational news articles, and public television programming for advice and information.

Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree in a related area is strongly preferred (a Bachelor’s degree in an applicable area will be considered).
Successful experience in program development and management, demonstrated communication ability as well as skills in leadership and management
Preferred Qualifications: A Master’s degree is preferred.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification required:
A Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Crop & Soil Science, Plant Protection & Pest Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Agricultural Education, or closely related area
Successful experience in program development and management
A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle for official duty travel are required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform work
A demonstrated communication ability as well as skills in leadership and management
A demonstrated ability to multi-task, work as a team member, and engage with groups and committees
The ability to design, coordinate, and teach educational programs to meet community needs
Physical Demands: Indoor and outdoor work with occasional heavy lifting
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm with frequent night meetings, some weekend work, and attendance at out-of-county meetings
