A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Entomology at UW-Madison to

Job Opportunitywork on the management of the invasive spotted wing drosophila in Wisconsin berry crops and on improving pollination services in cranberry. We are looking for a researcher to work on testing new effective baits and on describing the temporal and spatial distribution of SWD populations. Research on cranberry includes testing the effect of pest management strategies on bee fidelity to cranberry. The researcher will be responsible for designing and conducting the research, analyzing the data, and report results in peer-reviewed publications.

The position will be at the University of Wisconsin in Madison in the Department of Entomology in the Guédot’s Fruit Crop Entomology Laboratory (

Interested candidates must have a Ph.D. in entomology, ecology or a related field with demonstrated experience in conducting field and lab research, have a record in writing peer-reviewed publications, and be comfortable working independently and supervising students. Participation in extension activities to support the Fruit Crop Entomology program is expected. Funding is available for 2 years with the possibility to continue based on performance and funding.
