Postdoctoral research associate
Full-time, one-year appointment, with funding available for up to three years. Position is

Project description: We seek to appoint a highly motivated Postdoctoral
Researcher to investigate the population ecology and behavior of the invasive
brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB). This position will examine factors that
influence BMSB population growth behavior in orchards and diversified landscapes
that will guide management decisions. Postdoc will work with Anne Nielsen at the
Fruit Entomology lab. Postdoc will be located at Rutgers Agricultural Research and
Extension Center (RAREC) in Bridgeton, NJ

Qualifications: PhD in entomology, ecology, or a related field. Preference will be
given to applicants with prior experience working with invasive species, biological
control, modeling and/or molecular techniques. Experience working in insect
behavior, extension, and applied field work is welcomed. Candidate must have
excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work both
independently and as part of a team, supervise students in the lab and field, and
function in a diverse lab group. The candidate will work with members of the BMSB
team at Rutgers University and throughout the region.
